Dental prosthetic treatments are applied to fill the spaces of missing teeth in the mouth aesthetically and functionally or to restore the function of damaged teeth that have lost a significant part of the tooth tissue.
A "dental crown" is a dental restoration that fully covers the remaining portion of a prepared tooth, reinforces it, and gives it the shape, color, and look of a natural tooth. Dental crowns are also used for the following purposes:

-Preventing a weak tooth from being fractured
- To give an aesthetic appearance to a tooth that has lost its vitality and colored accordingly
- To regain function in areas with missing teeth by fixating on the implants placed in the jawbone
- To provide support to the tooth after root canal treatment

Dental Crown Procedure

Our specialist dentist first begins the preparation by anesthetizing the tooth or teeth that will be treated with prosthetic therapy in accordance with the planned procedure, following a thorough clinical examination and X-ray evaluation. Preparation is the process of removing some tissue from the tooth by adhering to the anatomical form of the tooth.

The purpose of this procedure is to provide the necessary space for the dental crown to be placed firmly and compatibly on the tooth. It can cause a feeling of sensitivity yet not invasive and painful.

Following the preparation, for the laboratory stage, a digital scan of the teeth is performed and temporary dentures are attached to the prepared teeth until the appointment a few days later. Since temporary teeth are not very strong, care should be taken during eating.

In the second appointment, temporary prostheses are removed and new crowns are rehearsed intraorally. If our prosthodontist decides on the suitability of the crowns and our patient is happy with his/her new teeth, cementation is performed, that is, the crowns are fixed in place with special dental materials. The whole process takes 5-6 days in 2-3 appointments.
